FLoC (Federated Learning of Cohorts) or to use in a sentence, ‘Have I been Floc-ed?’
LONG story short. Google is working to figure out how to navigate the whole privacy first world, trying to continue to enable personalization, targeting and retargeting – while keeping individuals’ identities anonymous.
FLoC is their interim answer to this. This means taking what they know about billions of Google users, anonymizing their data and releasing it into the data ecosystem wild.
Interested- There is a lot that has already been impacted, a lot of opinions – is this good or is this bad – and a LOT more to come. More interested-…stay tuned.
