Currency
I feel like I have had countless conversations about this concept recently in such a broad range of contexts. I won’t bore you. Sure, probably I will in a later longer post.
But the best description of currency I have heard is, ‘What defines a currency is that two sides agree to do business on the basis of it.‘
So, if you think about that – I guess ‘time is money’ – As a consultant, I get that. But now it seems data may be becoming money. I remember seeing this post a while ago, ‘Mediahub To Use Unaccredited Performance Data As ‘Currency’ For Ad Buys On Univision‘ and my mind was blown. Data as currency.
