You know I am the biggest fan of GA4 – but as more and more traditional Google Analytics customers are rethinking their custom channel groupings, it is great that Google recognizes the importance of the custom channel groupings and is working to modify and improve the default channel groupings.
But I know – yup. The elephant in the room (just heard that expression today and thought it was hilarious) – there is not yet a custom channel grouping definition in GA4. Actually there is – if you know where to look for it.
And by look for it – I mean create it – and by that I mean some reg-ex work in Data Studio. Intrigued- (still don’t know why my question mark key doesn’t work). Anyhow – if you want more detail on how to set this up, reach out to joy@analyticgirl.com.
